Antonio Tomassini, was born and brought up in Rome, though he studied and lived in Perugia, the main city of the region of Umbria Region for a number of years.
Throughout his working life, he has been involved in Wine and Food sales and promotions and took the opportunity to further develop his career by moving to England in 1994 and has lived here ever since.
Among his many achievements in this area is the launch of London’s first Art and Food exhibition at the Whitechapel Art Gallery in October 1999. Shortly after that, he sponsored the Estorik collection and Sotheby’s. These shows were also promoted at the Italian Cultural Institute and other London galleries.
The underlying this initiative was the belief that the finest foods and wines are even better appreciated in the congenial and restful atmosphere of an art gallery. The project was a great success and received official commendation from the Department from Culture, Media and Sport.
Since then he has developed a long standing relationship with the Italian Cultural Institute and continues to work with them regularly on various projects.
He has been a member of the main board of the Italian Chamber of Commerce in UK since 2002 and has concentrated on developing and promoting the best Italian wine and food producers in the UK. For him the creation of Italian Wine and Food Promotions is a natural development of all his experience and expertise.
He has a keen interest in classical music; cheese and chess. He is also keen on personal fitness, golf and tennis, and is an enthusiastic member of Queen’s Club.
He has two boys and a girl; lives and occasionally works in Hammersmith, London.
